We Finally Know Why Outback Steakhouse’s Steaks Are So Flavorful
BY JOHN TOLLEY
To discover Outback Steakhouse's secret to ensuring delicious steaks, we spoke to Chef Efrem Cutler, the VP of Research & Development for Outback's parent company Bloomin' Brands.
A persistent online rumor is that Outback cooks its steaks in beef tallow for a more pronounced flavor, but that's just not the case. "We cook our steaks with butter," says Cutler.
Outback staff also look for the perfect balance of meat and marbling in their steaks. Cutler adds that they use "proprietary seasoning" that is "bold and full-flavored."
