What Brand Is Behind The Kirkland Chocolate-Covered Almonds At Costco?
BY BRIAN UDALL
Costco's 3-pound jug of Kirkland Signature milk chocolate almonds is produced by Blommer Chocolate, the largest cocoa processor and chocolate ingredient supplier in North America.
The company is focused on business-to-business food supply and doesn't have any consumer-facing products, but it produces everything from specialty chocolates to choco chips.
Headquartered in Chicago, Blommer had four factories across North America and another one in Shanghai, but its Chicago-based factory closed recently in May 2024.
In 2018, it was bought by Fuji Oil Holding, ending its status of being family-owned since 1939, a long run that well embodies the country's transition into a global economy.
