What You Should Do With Your Cutting Board Before Using A Knife
By SYLVIA TOMCZAK
One of the most important kitchen items, cutting boards, are used for many tasks, such as dicing, julienning, and more. Although it's important to start with a clean cutting board, there is still something else you should do before using it.
A cutting board must be stabilized to eliminate slipping and sliding and reduce the risk of cutting board injuries. The best approach to stabilize cutting boards is to buy slip-resistant mats or clip-on feet that can be fastened directly to the board.
These mats, which are normally made of rubber or foam, rapidly and effectively anchor down cutting boards. Another quick and simple method to stop the cutting board from slipping is to dampen some paper towels or a kitchen towel and place them directly underneath it.
