Where Is The Cheapest Michelin-Starred Restaurant Located?

For almost 100 years, stars awarded by the Michelin Guide have helped to identify the best restaurants in the world. While a diner can expect to spend hundreds of dollars on a meal at a Michelin-starred restaurant, there are some restaurants that are more attainable for people on a budget — including one that has entrees for around $6.
Auntie Gaik Lean's Old School Eatery in Malaysia serves Peranakan cuisine: a blend of Chinese, Malay, and Indonesian ingredients and styles of cooking, with some influence from Indian and Eurasian cuisines. With a rice dessert for only $1.60, and spring rolls for $1.80, it’s far less expensive than other Michelin-starred eateries.
The Michelin Guide notes Auntie Gaik Lean's Old School Eatery as having many ingredients made from scratch, and that Chef Gaik Lean has secret recipes she's been making for decades. Earning a Michelin Star for the first time in December 2022, reservations now need to be made weeks in advance to ensure a table.
