Why Baked Potatoes Taste Better In Restaurants Than At Home

Chances are, your baked potato production at home is a lot more understated than when the dish is prepared at a restaurant, but the ultimate baked potato isn't out of reach.
Professionals know it's a sin to neglect the skin, and the exterior is as important as the inside. Season a Russet potato with olive oil, kosher salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
For an even cook, bake your potato directly on the oven's rack. Bake at 450 degrees F for 45 minutes to a full hour to reach an internal temperature of 210 degrees F.
Let the steam out right away by slicing open the potato. Garnish with toppings like butter, chives, sour cream, cheese, bacon, pulled pork, lemon zest, shallots, parsley, or dill.
