Why Chuck Roast Makes A Great Alternative To Boneless Short Ribs

If you find that your local grocery store is out of boneless short ribs, chuck roast is an excellent substitute, a tough cut with a similarly robust flavor.

Chuck roast and boneless short ribs are both cut from a cow's shoulder. While short ribs may tenderize more readily, you can achieve the same results with a chuck roast.
Simply braise or marinate the meat for at least 4 to 6 hours to elevate its flavor profile and tenderness. Consider adding in wine or beef stock to elevate things further.
