Why Shoppers Are Split On Costco's Butter Chicken And Naan Meal
BY Stephanie Maida
Costco has recently added a butter chicken and naan package to its prepared food section, and shoppers already seem split over the heat-and-eat version of the classic Indian dish.
On Reddit, one user called the $5.99-per-pound-pack "expensive AF," while another said it contains "double or triple the amount" a restaurant order offers and is cheaper.
Moreover, Reddit reviews of the chicken range from "chewy and woody" to "moist and tender," while those of the naan range from "overly hard" to "steamy, soft."
As for the sauce, Redditor u/ieatlions said it was too salty and “the spices weren't noticeable." However, per a TikTok from @floridamomof3, all its flavors and spices are evident.
The meal’s quality may vary with location and prep methods. The kit suggests heating it in the oven, but many have benefited from pan frying, air frying, and even microwaving.
