You Won't Ruin Your Diet With These Low-Carb Beer Options
BY LUCIA CAPRETTI
1. Corona Premier
In 2018, the Mexican-based Corona chose to add Corona Premier to its lineup, bringing a flavor that's a step over its Light counterpart.
Premier has fewer calories and carbohydrates than the Extra and Light, with 90 calories and 2.6 grams in a 12-ounce bottle. However, it does have a lower alcohol content.
2. Budweiser Select
Budweiser developed various products to cater to more customers, such as the Select 55, which only contains 2 grams of carbohydrates and 55 calories per serving.
However, the light beer has less flavor and about half the ABV of a regular beer. Budweiser also offers the Select, with 3.1 grams of carbs per 12-ounce serving and 4.3% ABV.
3. Miller Lite
While Miller Lite isn't exactly a premium beer, it is a refreshing drink with only 3.2 grams of carbs and 4.2% ABV in a 12-ounce bottle.
Miller remarks that its aim has always been to produce a great-tasting beer that just happens to be less filling using quality ingredients.
4. Beck's Premier Light
The German company Beck's has made a name for itself in the international market for its products, including its Premier Light beer.
With only 3.9 grams of carbohydrates and a mere 2.3% ABV per 12-ounce serving, Beck's Premier Light is a good option if you want to have a few drinks and not get intoxicated.
5. Michelob Ultra
Michelob Ultra Pure Gold is the country's first USDA-certified organic beer, with 2.5 grams of carbs and a moderate 3.8% ABV.
Men's Health indicates that Michelob did produce the first beer marketed as low-carb, but its organic label might mean that this beer is more expensive than other options.
