Eating is Believing

Chew, sip and discuss at the Great Taste Debates Party

It's been a heated summer--in more ways than one. As the mercury rose, so did the intensity of the discussions at our ongoing Great Taste Debates series, sponsored by the Patrón Social Club.

Now it's time for some action to back up all those fightin' words: Tasting Table and Patrón are throwing the Great Taste Debates Party, an interactive event where our favorite epicurean disputes will come to life.

Join us on September 15 at Hill Country restaurant (from 7 to 10 p.m.) to sample food and drink from some of our favorite restaurants and artisans.

A few examples: Salumeria Rosi and Despaña will help you pick your favorite cured ham (Prosciutto di Parma or Jamón Ibérico?), Danny Abrams and Cindy Smith from the forthcoming Mermaid Oyster Bar will tackle the endless East Coast vs. West Coast oyster debate, and Jacques Torres will let you determine your favorite style of chocolate--milk or dark--once and for all.

Jack Grace Band will provide live music and Hill Country will offer a panoply of classic barbecue items to taste and debate, while Patrón will give you a multitude of reasons to sample great tequila, including its premium Gran Patrón Platinum.

Tickets won't be available for purchase for another week, but Tasting Table readers who have joined the Patrón Social Club have a chance to win a free ticket plus one for a friend to attend. Click here to join the P.S.C. and learn more how to enter our sweepstakes.
