Earth Day in Chicago is more like Earth Week–and we wouldn't have it any other way.

Beginning April 17, there are ample opportunities to get involved, from harvesting local produce to dining on it in locally minded restaurants. And we've gathered six of the best activities, events and Earth Day offerings into a handy click-and-print guide (click here to download).

Help harvest organic produce at an organic urban farm, and learn the green gardening ropes at a growing fair that has sessions on composting, edible gardens and more.

Head to the North Shore for a food-focused Earth Day symposium, which features solar oven how-tos, organic cooking demonstrations and screenings of the food documentaries Fresh, Black Gold, The Food Desert and A Quiet Revolution.

And, of course, you can always participate with your dining dollars via an Earth Dinner series, a local food sale or the Green City Market's final indoor market.
