New York Food Shopping Hotspots Let You Buy Online

Three new online food havens

It's no secret that New York has some of the world's best shopping, particularly at this time of year. But if you can't make it to town (or would rather not face the crowds), there's still a way to bring some of the city's best to your holiday via two of our favorite shops.

Bklyn Larder: Carefully curated by the team at Franny's, one of Brooklyn's most beloved restaurants, the selection at this shop's online store has grown considerably and features both hyperlocal goods as well as luxe imports. On our wish list: a fanciful cheese poster ($20), a tin of Acquerello arborio rice for winter risotto ($12) and a jar of Luxardo cocktail cherries ($24).

Eataly: New York City's grand emporium of Italian goods has expanded its online store (previously just home to a few gift baskets) to include the majority of its inventory. We'd go for the Venchi gianduja spread ($17), bottles of Roi taggiasca olive oil ($12 to $30) and a classic panettone produced in Piedmont, Italy, by the Bonifanti family, who have been making these classic Italian Christmas cakes since 1932. The only thing missing: Being able to snack on pizza and pasta from Eataly's four restaurants while you shop.
