Whole Food Launches Food Truck

A Whole Foods food truck will roll onto the streets of the market's hometown, Austin, on March 10. Momofuku alum Tien Ho, who is the global vice president of culinary and hospitality for the supermarket, will be overseeing the truck, and its concept will change every two months. According to a report on Eater Austin, the store will use the truck as a way to test out different concepts and chef partnerships.

The first iteration of the truck is called Tartinette and will focus on sandwiches and salads. Two percent of the proceeds will go to charity, and each time the truck changes concepts, the charity it benefits will change as well. First up is the Austin Food and Wine Alliance.

We've reached out to the Whole Foods team to find out if there will be more trucks rolling out soon (this isn't their first time at the food truck rodeo), but no word yet, so stay tuned.
