Best NYC Restaurant Week Restaurants Winter
A $29 Michelin-starred lunch is no longer just a fever dream (at least until February 9)
Choosing a restaurant in NYC is already hard enough—now almost 400 spots offering their best menus (at hard-to-beat prices) have entered the fray for Restaurant Week. We're picking our top places in some of the city's major neighborhoods, so the hardest thing you'll have to do is save your stomach until dinnertime.
Carroll Gardens: Buttermilk Channel
Debating between the bacon-y vichyssoise or the house-made ricotta is a dilemma we can understand. Choosing anything but the namesake buttermilk fried chicken sandwich, though, is whole different matter.
Chelsea/Tribeca: Momofuku Nishi
There's no better excuse to try David Chang's personal ode to Italian food, and you'll be especially glad to know that famous ceci e pepe, where chickpeas take the place of Pecorino Romano cheese, is on the roster.
East Village: Hearth
Though it's been open since 2003, Marco Canora's rustic spot never feels tired, especially with a menu that includes grass-fed beef ricotta meatballs and a sticky toffee date cake with poached pear.
Lower East Side: Pig and Khao
Top Chef alumn Leah Cohen is giving you a grand tour of Southeast Asia by way of dishes from the Philippines and Thailand, plus a Burmese eggplant salad.
Midtown: Ai Fiori
Dining at a Michelin restaurant for less than $30 used to be a fantasy we didn't believe in either, until that plate of handmade tagliatelle alla carbonara landed on the table.
Upper West Side: Bar Boulud
Breeze past a country pâté plate and bowl of boeuf bourguignon so you can get to the best course of all: dessert, which involves choices like a lemon curd pavlova and a rich gâteau built from chocolate nougat and salted caramel.
Williamsburg: Leuca
Head to this particularly stylish Southern Italian restaurant inside the William Vale Hotel, where Andrew Carmellini's charred Caesar cabbage will forever change your view on the traditional dish.
