Housing Works Taste Of Home Event 2018
And they're extending you an invite to help fight the HIV/AIDS epidemic
Sure, a lot of us can say we've had the candele cacio e pepe at Café Altro Paradiso or the addictive garlic soup at Reynard—but few of us can boast about rubbing elbows with the chefs behind kitchen doors, all while giving back to the community in the process.
Back for its seventh year, Housing Works' Taste of Home event brings together some of the city's most popular chefs for an intimate dining experience that we're proud to support at the organization's bookstore in Soho. Gerardo Gonzalez of Lalito, Natasha Pickowicz of Flora Bar and Café Altro Paradiso, and Christina Lecki of Reynard are just a few of the names who will be there, and instead of recreating dishes you'd already find on their menus, they're cooking the food they'd make if you were being personally welcomed into their homes for dinner.
All the proceeds from the event—hosted by Alex Guarnaschelli, The Splendid Table host Francis Lam and New York Times food editor Sam Sifton on June 6—will go toward Housing Works' mission of ensuring those living with HIV/AIDS have access to proper housing and healthcare, in addition to the advocacy work required to end the epidemic. Tickets are available on the Taste of Home website.
