Thai Delivery At Home With Grubkit
Cook takeout favorites at home with GrubKit
Your go-to Thai recipe reads: Take one part cell phone, add takeout menu. Order, answer door, repeat.
Now you can make your favorite takeout dishes, like pad Thai, chickpea curry and Kung Pao chicken, less intimidating–and more healthful–by cooking them yourself with the new GrubKits.
The company was started in Brooklyn by a husband-and-wife team, and each GrubKit ($19 to $20) contains a bevy of pre-measured, nonperishable, hard-to-source ingredients and spices, as well as a detailed recipe card. Simply supplement the kit with a few items you probably already have on hand (think tomatoes and onions) and fresh proteins.
Thorough instructions, with helpful preparation and timing tips, encourage successful cooking in even novices: Chickpea curry turned out deeply aromatic, and the pad Thai satisfied with crunchy peanuts, crisp dried onions and al dente noodles.
You can feel good about the finished meal: Ingredients are organic whenever possible, and the recipes use minimal oil. Plus, Moroccan and African kits are on the way–two more reasons to order, instead of ordering out.
