With C&W, William Werner delivers on the promise made by Tell Tale Preserve Co, his never-fully-realized project. The polish at Werner's pastry shop is degrees brighter than at any other shop in town; yet, at the same time, he doesn't mistake gloss for flavor. The verrines are an unexpected hit, as are the savory sandwiches, and we always end up with a chocolate-chip cookie we didn't intend to buy when we walked in the door. (See our previous coverage.)
