Trader Joe's New Seasoning Was Made With Pickle Lovers In Mind
Trader Joe's is no stranger to the seasoning game. From the viral Everything but the Bagel Sesame Seasoning Blend to newer additions like the Ranch Seasoning Blend (inspired by the beloved salad dressing), the brand is known for its inventive take on the spice aisle.
Many of Trader Joe's seasonings are inspired by the flavors of one particular dish or ingredient, like the Everything but the Elote Seasoning Blend or the Mushroom & Company Multipurpose Umami Seasoning Blend.
Now, the newest addition to the lineup follows this same tried-and-true formula — but, this time, it's drawing inspiration from the flavors of a classic dill pickle.
Per Trader Joe's, each 2.3-ounce jar of Seasoning in a Pickle Seasoning Blend retails for $2.49. Keep in mind that the tangy blend is a "limited" release — meaning you should stock up on this flavorful seasoning sooner rather than later.
What's in Trader Joe's new pickle-flavored seasoning blend?
According to Trader Joe's, Seasoning in a Pickle gets its acidic tang from vinegar powder. Granulated onion, granulated garlic, and dried dill provide that essential dill pickle flavor, while sugar and salt help balance out the flavor.
If you're a fan of these flavors but stumped on how to actually use Seasoning in a Pickle, you're in luck: Trader Joe's provides several suggestions.
"Sprinkle it generously onto roasted veggies or baked potatoes straight out of the oven, shake it over freshly scrambled eggs or Ground Beef Patties just before cooking, or make a dill-licious dip by mixing a few heaping tablespoons into a tub of sour cream or Greek yogurt," per the company.
Trader Joe's List, an Instagram account that documents new releases from the brand, recently shared an image of the seasoning blend and provided a few other suggestions of how to use it. Per the post, the Seasoning in a Pickle blend also pairs well with popcorn, fries, pizza — and even ice cream.
