Dominique Crenn's Opening A Wine Bar
Expect it in April 2017
Dominique Crenn believes San Francisco is lacking something: "I love beautiful, loungey wine bars. I don't think there are many in San Francisco," she tells the San Francisco Chronicle. Next spring, the two-Michelin-starred chef will open her own "very French" wine bar called Bar Crenn, just next door to her flagship tasting menu restaurant, Atelier Crenn.

The wine bar menu will focus on natural and biodynamic wines, chosen by Atelier Crenn wine director Matt Montrose. There will also be snacks to go with them, giving diners who can't afford her other restaurants an opportunity to try the chef's food.
Crenn announced the news on Instagram this weekend when she shared a photo of the liquor license transfer from wine bar Cellar Door to her. The space already shares a back courtyard with Atelier Crenn, so the team may be able to pluck dishes or bottles from one kitchen and pass them to the other.
