A Negroni Fountain Is In NYC
We've found the fountain of youth
No other cocktail shouts summer sophistication (all in an operatic tenor) more than a vibrantly colored Negroni—a staple of warm-weather happy hours. And thanks to a new pop-up bar headed to New York, you can spend the rest of your summer knocking back this Campari cocktail by the fountain-ful.
According to Gothamist, the boozy pop-up comes courtesy of Dante, the 100-plus-year-old NYC bar known for its expansive menu of Negroni variations. Its bartenders will be taking over the now-shuttered restaurant Genuine Superette in Little Italy, where they'll be providing a free-flowing fountain of their classic Negroni, which you'll be able to dispense into your awaiting cocktail glass.
Before you call in sick this Friday, though, just know this isn't an all-you-can-drink affair: Eagle-eyed bartenders will monitor you as you pour yourself a $14 serving. The pop-up will also have a separate menu of aperitif cocktails on hand if you choose not to partake in this adults-only punch fountain. But we'd be lying if we said we weren't showing up just to solely to drink from the fountain of (somewhat irresponsible) youth.
