Culver's Is Bringing Back A Beloved Cheese-Filled Burger For A Short Time

Those that missed out on the debut of Culver's CurderBurger last year will have another chance at this cheesy sandwich when it returns to all locations next week.

WMTV states that Culver's knew that the CurderBurger would be especially popular in Wisconsin The sandwich is one of the restaurant chain's standard ButterBurgers topped with a cheese curd crown. For those that don't know what a cheese curd is, it is an un-aged form of cheese solids that comes from an early step in the cheese-making process. Culver's originally started in a small town in the "Dairy State" of Wisconsin and has made the beloved cheese curds a part of the brand's identity. Last May, the chain even sent a cheese curd food truck out to help spread the love for the squeaky cheese. National Today notes that in 2015, Culver's made October 15 National Cheese Curd Day.

It makes sense that what was originally meant to be an April Fool's Day joke instead created a demand for a burger made with a cheese curd patty. OnMilwaukee reports that the original prank post was a simple photo of a giant cheese curd photoshopped onto a bun. Customers responded to the idea so positively though that Culver's made it a reality last year for one day only. But now the fast food chain is bringing it back.

CurderBurger returns for a limited time

Culver's recently announced that the CurderBurger will be returning to all Culver's locations on Oct. 12 and until the end of the month (per WMTV). The Green Bay Press Gazette states that each location will be stocked with 1,000 cheese curd crowns to top the CurderBurger and that it will only be available while those supplies last.

Last year's single-day release in honor of National Cheese Curd Day was met with a ravenous response from fans. According to the Green Bay Press Gazette, more than 136,000 CurderBurgers were sold in a single day. Culver's reported that 20% of its locations broke their single-day sales records thanks to customers' desire to eat a burger topped with fried cheese curds. Fans immediately demanded more CurderBurgers, and now they're about to have their cheesiest dreams come true.

The Green Bay Press Gazette adds that Culver's will also give away CurderBurger t-shirts. Guests can upload a photo of their CurderBurger or receipt online to be entered into a drawing for a free shirt.
