Oven-Baked Sweet Potato Fries Recipe
A hot side of french fries is the perfect accompaniment to any main course. We all know that fries come in all shapes and sizes, and they also happen to come from different types of potatoes. The great part about sweet potatoes, in particular, is that they are both delicious, and filled with healthy nutrients. According to WebMD, sweet potatoes have vitamins and minerals that help boost your immune system, and promotes eye, heart, and kidney health.
Recipe developer Catherine Brookes of Blue Sky Eating came up with this delicious recipe. "Sweet potato fries are a fun alternative to white potato fries [that are] healthy too. Making them from scratch is much simpler than you would think, and it's easy to customize them with your favorite spices too," Brookes shares. "Other than that signature sweet taste, they're also a great source of nutrients such as Vitamins A and C," Brookes notes.

Gather the ingredients for oven-baked sweet potato fries
This recipe is relatively simple, and requires only a few ingredients: sweet potatoes, olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika, chili powder, and salt. "The spice blend has a little heat and a little sweet smokiness," Brookes shares.
Once you have those items, you can make these delicious oven-baked sweet potato fries.
Prepare the sweet potatoes
Preheat the oven to 425 F. Then, peel and slice the potatoes into ¼-inch-thick strips to look like french fries.
Add the cut fries to a baking sheet, and drizzle all over with olive oil. Sprinkle the garlic powder, smoked paprika, chili powder, and salt to taste, and use your hands to toss the ingredients together.
Serve and enjoy
Bake the spiced sweet potatoes fries for 35 to 40 minutes. "Make sure not to skip turning the fries halfway through cooking, otherwise they make start to burn on one side," Brookes warns. Once your timer goes off, remove the sweet potato fries from the oven. "These are great served alongside a range of dishes such as burgers, sandwiches and wraps," Brookes notes. "They also pair well with Mexican food such as tacos or enchiladas."
It also may be best to skip leftovers. Brookes shares that the fries are "definitely best eaten on the same day, as they do have a tendency to go a little soggy in the fridge."
