Reese's Puffs Wants You To Eat Cereal In Style With New Bowl-Inspired Purse
The metaverse is still a head-scratcher for many people, but this futuristic new collaboration from Reese's and Ambush might just break the techie veil and pull you right in. According to a press release from Reese's, it all revolves around Reese's Puffs cereal and a clandestine creation by fashion designer Yoon Ahn. So eating in style isn't just a concept anymore — it apparently comes to life starting November 16 in a multi-phased crash of futuristic aesthetics, virtual reality, other-worldly breakfast, and a collectible accessory like none you've seen before.
The first introduction into the "future of breakfast" is a physical one, which takes place in an ultramodern New York City diner. The venue is open one day only, and reservations are on a first-come, first-serve basis. It's where the lucky few will get a sneak peek at the upcoming virtual "Breakfastverse" and an even-more-curious fashion accessory. The scheme springs from a cereal giant and a pop art-inspired design company with a particular Tokyo aesthetic, per Ambush.
Collaborations are nothing new to Ambush, which has jumped in the ring with the likes of Louis Vuitton, Moet, Nike, and Rimowa, makers of high-end aluminum and polycarbonate luggage. However, the stretch from high fashion to candy-inspired cereal seems a long one — until you see that purse.
The Chrome Puff purse
First came the cream puff pastry, and now there's the decidedly different play-on-words accessory, the Chrome Puff purse from Reese's and Ambush. It's not edible but is collectible. Designed to merge fashion and food in other-worldly ways, the limited-edition chrome-inspired purse features embedded and embossed lettering and reflective text on a metallic cereal-bowl design, according to Reese's press release. It's available in the U.S. starting November 17 for $149.99 and comes with a foldable chrome spoon.
In a glimpse behind the exclusive fashion-industry curtain, fashion designer Yoon Ahn brings things down to earth when admitting she's a major fan of Reese's Puffs cereal. The South Korean-American designer from Seattle, per The U.S. Sun, explains how she enthusiastically helped build the interactive "Breakfastverse" online space. The Chrome Puff purse is part of the multi-pronged experiment, which also includes the online game, the Reese's Puffs cereal box available now for $5.24, and a collectible chrome-inspired Reese's Puffs and Ambush cereal box for $49.95.
If you'd like to score a free Chrome Puff or collectible cereal box, try your hand at the Breakfastverse game and make your way to the Chrome Throne, which results in a sweepstakes entry for the futuristic gear.
