Burger King's Royal Crispy Chicken Sandwich Is Getting An Italian Twist

In the last two months, McDonald's revealed it was bringing the sweet by adding a cheese danish to its bakery, Pizza Hut reported customers could skip the pizza pie and order one of its all-new melts, and Whataburger upped its sides game by debuting cheese-drenched chili fries (per Chew Boom). But not to be left out, Burger King is now adding another product to the new fast food eat menu (via Chew Boom). Releasing right off the heels of its recently-debuted its ghost pepper Whopper's first seasonal run, the monarch of the grill's new menu item is not about beef but chicken.

If you can't get enough of Burger King's original Royal Crispy Chicken sandwich, you may not be able to imagine a way to make this fried chicken, royal sauce, tomato, and lettuce-filled lunchtime staple better. Luckily, Burger King dares to dream. The fast food chain is giving the crispy-chicken-packed sandwich an Italian-inspired makeover. Here's what you need to know about the soon-to-be-released Italian BK Royal Crispy Chicken Sandwich.

Take a ride on the Italian side with Burger King's newest sandwich

An Italian staple, marinara dresses our pizzas and tops off our spaghetti. And Chew Boom reports Burger King is putting this garlic and tomato-infused red sauce on its newest lunch special. According to the outlet, by ordering the Italian BK Royal Crispy Chicken Sandwich (a variation of the sandwich pictured above), you'll be biting into fried chicken slathered in marinara sauce and topped with mozzarella on a potato bun.

But as appetizing as this sandwich may sound, Chew Boom reports it won't officially appear on BK's menu until November 17. However, a few select, undisclosed locations will begin offering the Italy-influenced sandwich on November 14. When the Italian BK Royal Crispy Chicken Sandwich does finally pop up at your local Burger King Thrillist reports, it will sell for $5.49.

However, Eat This, Not That! notes that the new Royal Crispy Chicken sandwich isn't the only new Italy-inspired meal on its way to town. The outlet states that a recent menu leak revealed Wendy's will also soon be selling two sandwiches influenced by the Italian countryside. So it seems this November, fast food fans can look forward to tasting new eats that will make them think of Italy.
