Chick-Fil-A Is Bringing 2 Winter Favorites Back To Its Menu

Our favorite coffee shops can be cagey about just when their annual pumpkin spice season will give way to peppermint- and candy cane-inspired creations (via Metro UK), but it's a pretty sure bet the PSL we began anticipating in mid-summer will be on the wane by late November. Chick-fil-A is already embracing the return of wintertime favorites, including its peppermint chip milkshake. According to a press release, the shake is one of two longtime winter staples set to begin their seasonal rotation on November 14. The other, one of the chain's go-to winter warmers, is chicken tortilla soup.

Introduced in 2008, Chick-fil-A's peppermint chip milkshake begins with a base of Icedream (the chain's signature frozen dairy soft-serve, according to Talk Radio News) blended with peppermint bark chips, topped with whipped cream, and crowned with a cherry.

"We're always excited to bring back the peppermint chip milkshake," said Leslie Neslage, director of menu and packaging at Chick-fil-A. "We know that it's a part of our customers' holiday traditions."

An oldie, but goody

Available by the bowl or by the cup, Chick-fil-A's chicken tortilla soup is a spicy blend of shredded chicken, beans, and vegetables in a creamy base, topped off with seasoned corn and tortilla strips. According to a press release, the brand's fan-favorite, chicken tortilla soup debuted at Chick-fil-A founder S. Truett Cathy's first dine-in restaurant in Hapeville, Georgia. It wasn't until 2012 that the dish hit menus nationwide.

"Many do not realize we use both our spicy and original chicken in the recipe, which gives the soup a subtle kick. Customers look forward to its return each year," said Neslage.

Both of these seasonal items are available for a limited time, while supplies last, for dine-in, pick-up, or delivery. Peppermint chip milkshake delivery orders do not include the whipped cream and cherry topping, but if you're making Chick-fil-A's peppermint milkshake pie, you won't need the extra toppings.
