Gather the ingredients for the white pizza sauce

To make this creamy white pizza sauce recipe, you will need butter, all-purpose flour, milk, salt, pepper, garlic, and Parmesan cheese. Hahn tells us there are some easy substitutions, if you have any dietary restrictions. "You can use dairy-free butter, milk, and Parmesan cheese if dairy isn't your thing, and if you are out of fresh garlic, adding a teaspoon of garlic powder or granules will work just fine."

Make the white sauce

Melt the butter in a small pot over medium heat. Then, create a roux by adding the flour, and whisking for 1 minute until it has thickened. Slowly pour in the milk, and continue to whisk, until the mixture thickens. Hahn says, "At first you won't think anything is happening, and you'll be tempted to add more flour, but after about 8 minutes, the mixture magically becomes thick." After it has thickened, stir in the salt, pepper, and crushed garlic, and remove from heat.

Add the Parmesan, and serve

Once the pot has been removed from the heat, stir in the Parmesan cheese. Your creamy sauce is now ready to use on your dough of choice. The sauce makes enough for 4 10-inch pizzas, and will last up to 5 days in the fridge. Move over jarred red sauce — there's a new sauce in town.
