Popcornopolis And Takis Made Fiery Popcorn Together
Since Takis first hit the U.S. market in 2001, they've accrued something of a cult following. The spicy rolled tortilla chip has a TikTok account with 1.7 million followers and 10.8 million likes. Last year, Takis partnered with social media celebrities Charli D'Amelio and Tyler "Ninja" Blevins for an online ad campaign series, according to a press release, and the snack brand has enjoyed a whopping 25% year-to-date growth rate, per the company. While these accolades might seem impressive enough, Takis has still been looking for more ways to grow the brand, including expanding its lineup of offerings from the original Fuego to an array of new flavors, like Blue Heat and Nitro, and shapes including Takis Waves, Stix, and Hot Nuts.
Now, Takis is back with another new product to keep fans on their toes. Via a press release, the brand announced a new collaboration with popcorn brand Popcornopolis.
Spicing it up with a new collab
Popcornopolis Takis Fuego will combine Popcornopolis' popcorn with Takis' signature hot chili pepper and lime flavor dust, per the press release. It'll be popped in coconut oil and made exclusively from corn grown in the U.S. Admittedly, Takis already has a popcorn offering called Pop! But, unlike Popcornopolis' gluten-free gourmet popcorn, the Takis' Pop! is air-popped.
Fittingly, this collab is working with a yet-unnamed team of social media influencers who will "create unique recipes and content" to promote the Popcornopolis Takis Fuego product. The internet might have another Taki-fueled celebrity ad campaign on its hands. (The Jonas Brothers' Nick Jonas is an avid fan of sriracha popcorn, per Insider. *Wink*)
The Takis website dares fans to "face the intensity" of "the most intense snack in town." (The key word when it comes to anything Taki-related seems to be "intensity.") For fans feeling up to the spicy challenge, Popcornopolis Takis Fuego is available for sale on the Popcornopolis website, with a pack of 12 "Tall Cones" going for $69.99. According to the press release, the product will also be sold at Walmart, Target, Sam's Club, 7-Eleven, Meier, and HEB stores for $4.98-$5.99 each.
