Panera Debuts Bright Green BAGuette Purse For Fashion Week 2023

Not only is the limited-edition purse from Panera eye-catching, it also can be highly practical. Shaped just a little larger than the new Panera Toasted Baguettes, the bright green "BAGuettes" can even be the ultimate baguette sandwich carrier, according to an announcement. 

Unveiled in January, Panera Bread locations around the country are selling three Toasted Baguette sandwiches: Green Goddess Caprese Melt, Pepperoni Mozzarella Melt, and Smoky Buffalo Chicken Melt. The sandwiches include the restaurant chain's well-known crusty baguette and are filled with flavorful and clean ingredients, such as fresh mozzarella, arugula, red onions, and garlic aioli. While the sandwiches have bright flavors, the new purse has a bright and bold color and design. The bag's release also coincides with Fashion Week in New York City, which will start Feb. 10 and end Feb. 15, per USA Today. Designers Sergio Hudson, Christian Siriano, Proenza Schouler, and Brandon Maxwell, among others, will display their Fall and Winter collections. The promotional photos for the BAGuette shows the purse as an accessory to complement long coats, jeans, and black shoes.

Whether you choose to carry a Panera Toasted Baguette in your BAGuette or a wallet and keys, the purse is clearly connected to the restaurant with the "P" from the Panera logo creating an embossed pattern on the purse, as well as being a key component of the flag magnetic closure. The 12-inch purse also has gold hardware and the green material is the same color that Panera uses in its branding. Best known for its menu of sandwiches, soups, and bakery, this is the first time that Panera has created a purse, said Drayton Martin, VP of Brand Building, Panera Bread.

A presale of the BAGuettes began February 7 and despite there being only 500 purses for sale, they don't cost a lot of dough. They are retailing for $39.50, plus any applicable taxes. The BAGuette will not be sold in stores or Panera cafes, but for those wanting to add this accessory to their wardrobe, they can go to PaneraBaguetteBag.com to make a purchase.
