Irish Whiskey Brand Roe & Co Wants To Send You And A Friend To Dublin
Beginning March 13, 2023, Roe & Co Distillery calls on all amateur mixologists and friends who've ever said, "We should open a bar together!" The Irish whiskey distillery, operated by the makers of the iconic Irish stout beer Guinness, is looking for the next great St. Paddy's Day cocktail and taking submissions for a chance to win a trip to Ireland.
According to a press release from the distillery, Roe & Co is "encouraging cocktail enthusiasts across the country to come together to reinvent the ultimate St. Patrick's Day cocktail" using Roe & Co Irish whiskey, of course. Legal U.S. residents over the age of 25 have, from March 13 to May 1, 2023, to submit their entries to Roe & Co via photo or video on Instagram. Posts should explain the recipe and be submitted by tagging @roeandcowhiskey and using #DublinUpCocktailContest. Winners will be selected on World Whiskey Day on May 20.
Cocktail creators have a chance to win money and travel to Ireland
The creators of the winning cocktail will be awarded a $10,000 travel voucher to spend toward a trip for two to Dublin that includes a special, immersive cocktail experience at the Roe & Co Distillery. The winning duo's drink will also be featured at the distillery's bar as its signature cocktail for St. Patrick's Day in 2024.
Roe & Co hopes that mixologists will enter as teams to embrace the spirit of cooperation on which its brand was built. The company sits on the site of the old Thomas Street Distillery, Ireland's biggest whiskey producer and owned by the Roe family until it closed in 1926. The old distillery operated across the street from the Guinness brewery and was taken over by the brewing company.
In 2017, the distillery resurrected the brand and celebrated its namesake's legacy using its old power station building. Today, it offers tours, tastings, workshops, and dining experiences for Irish whiskey lovers from around the world.
