The Starbucks Secret Drink Hack For Dupe Dole Whip
The Starbucks secret menu is one of our favorite hidden treasure troves in the summer. Between the Grinch Frappuccino, blue drink, and blackberry cobbler Frappuccino, there's a seemingly endless pit of sweet summer beverages just waiting to be discovered. Our other favorite place to unearth fun treats? Disneyland. As kids, we came for the rides and to get Mickey's autograph, but as adults, we realized you can explore pumpkin sweet treats, festive cocktails, and an array of exciting restaurants.
So when we discovered one of Disneyland's premier delicacies, the Dole Whip, can be recreated off-menu at Starbucks, we were all ears. The Dole Whip is an iconic treat at Disneyland, and the theme park sells almost 960,000 cups every year as of 2016, according to the Orange County Register. But even if you do make the trip to California, an adult ticket to Disneyland will cost you upwards of $100. Luckily, wherever you live, you can head to your local Starbucks this summer and order a drink that is sure to satisfy your Dole Whip craving.
Order the pineapple refresher, with a twist
Disney's Dole Whip is essentially pineapple soft-serve in a cup, although it also comes in vanilla or swirled flavors. The real recipe is still under wraps, but "Delicious Disney: Walt Disney World," a cookbook that shares recipes from the Disney parks, explains that you can make it at home using only three ingredients: pineapple juice, pineapple chunks, and dairy-free vanilla ice cream.
So here's how to replicate those flavors in a Starbucks drink: as TikTok user @kortneyandkarlee explains in a video, order a venti pineapple refresher blended with vanilla sweet cream cold foam. The pineapple refresher, which Starbucks debuted in the summer of 2022, features diced pineapple with a pineapple and passionfruit mix – so not an exact dupe of the passionfruit-less Dole Whip, but pretty close. Add in the vanilla sweet cream cold foam, and you've got a creamy, refreshing pineapple treat.

Perhaps one of the best parts of this drink, as opposed to other Starbucks secret menu beverages, is that it's extremely easy to order. Instead of detailing a paragraph's worth of specifications, you're getting a drink that baristas already know how to make, with just one modification. Better yet, it can be completely ordered through the app. So while you may not be able to make the journey to Disneyland to get the real thing this summer, head over to Starbucks for a still-delicious dupe.
