Disney Names 2023 EPCOT International Food & Wine Fest Dates
Disney's EPCOT theme park in Florida is famous for its four annual festivals — the International Festival of the Arts, International Flower and Garden Festival, International Food and Wine Festival, and International Festival of the Holidays — which unfold across much of each calendar year. In 2022, for example, the EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival took place over the course of four months, from July through November.
The 2023 dates for the EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival have been announced, according to WDWMagic. This year's edition will take place from July 27 to November 18, and will feature 25 marketplace attractions from around the world.
The food and wine focused fête has not always taken place over such an extended time period. When it began back in 1996, the festival's duration was a single month. As recently as 2015, it occurred over a span of two months. It was only with the celebration of the event's 25th anniversary that it reached its present length. What has remained consistent over the years, however, is the focus on marketplace experiences that showcase culinary attractions from around the world. Often there is an additional Disney connection involved. No less than two attractions this year, for example, will be inspired by Disney's 2007 animated classic "Ratatouille."
New and returning attractions for the 2023 food fest
Highlights this year are expected to include Emile's Fromage Montage, which offers a literal passport to try an international array of cheesy favorites. A staple of the festival since 2019, this "Ratatouille" inspired attraction gives "well-traveled" cheese lovers the opportunity to redeem a special treat. A second "Ratatouille" based attraction, Remy's Ratatouille Hide and Squeak, also returns for another EPCOT food fest cycle, along with culinary marketplaces from various countries including Canada, India, and Spain.
Other attractions won't be featured for the entire festival, and thus encourage families to plan their trip dates carefully. A Halloween-style scavenger hunt, for example — Pluto's Pumpkin Pursuit — will only be available September 29 to October 31. There is no additional fee beyond a theme park entrance ticket required for the festival, but a la carte pricing may be in effect for culinary fare.
