The Store-Bought Item You're Overlooking For Cheaper Starbucks Tea Lattes

Starbucks may be best known for its coffee-powered lattes, but did you know they also have a strong contingent of tea lattes? If you're among Starbucks' old-school ardent devo-teas, but you're looking to hang onto more of your bucks, there may be a solution that will allow you to easily make copycat versions of your favorite Starbucks tea lattes at home and it can be found at your local grocery store.

Although Starbucks shifted away from Tazo brand tea years ago in lieu of Teavana, Tazo's line of inexpensive tea concentrates still make an excellent dupe for Starbucks' popular Chai Tea Latte and Matcha Tea Latte drinks, whether you're making them hot or iced. For roughly the price of one tea latte from Starbucks, which is around $5, you can DIY about five drinks at home. (Bonus: You can do it all without having to wait in line). All you have to do is add one part of your milk of choice to one part concentrate and you're good to go. Tazo's chai comes in "Classic," "Decaf," and "Organic." And if you can't find Tazo's matcha mix, you can try matcha powder for another economical alternative.

The dupes don't stop there

Other available dupes include Starbucks' London Fog Tea Latte, a vanilla-tinged blend of Earl Grey and bergamot, and Starbucks' seasonal fall hit, the Pumpkin Spice Latte. Yes, Tazo has a ready-to-pour for this one — an infusion of black tea with all of your favorite autumn spices (cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, cloves, etc.) that will have you joyfully raking leaves until the harvest moon rises in the amber sky. You can also try their Gingerbread latte, a decaf black tea with allspice, molasses, ginger, cinnamon, brown sugar, and nutmeg.

Finally, we don't want to leave out those who love a refreshing iced tea — sans the latte. If you're a fan of Starbucks' Iced Passion Tango Tea, you're in luck because Tazo also offers an Iced Passion Concentrate, it's that summery mix of hibiscus flowers, orange peel, rose hips, and passion fruit flavor you've come to love from Starbucks iced offerings. Also available in Watermelon Cucumber and Berry Hibiscus Margarita concentrates, just add water, sparkling water, or a splash of your favorite tequila or vodka and sip poolside, while you tally up your annual savings. Starbucks' loss is your gain.
