Kerrygold Debuts Butter Blends, A Flavorful Line Of Compound Butters

Ireland-based grass-fed butter company Kerrygold is taking its products to the next level this summer with three new spruced-up flavors, according to a statement sent to Tasting Table. These newly dubbed "Butter Blends" are expected to be on grocery store shelves nationwide in the U.S. by September 2023. If you live near a Kroger, Harris Teeter, or Whole Foods, you may be able to get a taste as early as June, and the blends will make their debut at Publix stores in July.

They come in three varieties: Chive & Onion, Sundried Tomato & Basil, and Bell Pepper & Garden Herbs. The first blend mixes chive, onion, and parsley, while the second incorporates dried tomatoes, basil, oregano, thyme, onions, and garlic, giving the butter a satisfying aroma in addition to its elevated taste. The Bell Pepper & Garden Herbs flavor boasts paprika, oregano, basil, onions, garlic, and bell pepper — and all three feature Kerrygold's original pure Irish grass-fed butter, which comes from cows free of growth hormones and contains a high butterfat content.

Bringing fun flavors to classic Irish butter

What are some ways you can flex your creative muscles and deploy these new blends? The green-speckled golden yellow Chive & Onion flavor is an ideal topping for a charbroiled steak, grilled seafood, steamed veggies, or a bowl of rice — although it can prove equally delicious spread on a toasted bagel.

The Sundried Tomato & Basil butter, on the other hand, is intended to "pay homage to beloved Italian flavors," per the statement, and makes a tasty ingredient for crostini, bruschetta, pasta, or a grilled cheese. And the Bell Pepper & Garden Herbs blend, which appears orange with colorful mix-ins, pairs well with your favorite kabobs for grilling or topping a bowl of spicy popcorn.

The new blends were inspired by social media, according to Kerrygold Brand Manager, Alexandra Vinci. "With the rising popularity of homemade compound butters all over social media ... we're excited to bring consumers our Irish take and expertise on the growing culinary trend." If you're itching to get your hands on the new blends, visit Kerrygold's store locator to figure out where they're available in your local area.
