How To Get Free Shake Shack Fries Every Friday For The Month Of August
Summer Fridays are great enough on their own, considering they usually come paired with leaving work early and embarking on an adventure in the sunshine (or heading home to nap). But what makes summer Fridays even better this year? Free food — specifically, free fries from Shake Shack.
The chain kicked off "Summer Fryday" on August 4th on its Twitter account, announcing that when you spend $10 or more at Shake Shack every Friday through September 1st, you can get an order of free classic fries.
In order to secure the (free) bag, you'll need to order from the chain's website, app, or a kiosk in-store, and use the code "FRYDAY." The promotion is only available at regular Shake Shack stores, not including pop-ups at airports, stadiums, museums, and ballparks. The chain won't automatically put the free fries in your order, so make sure to add them before you finish checking out.
If you're a fan of the burger joint's fancier fries, like the Spicy Fries with Ranch, Spicy Cheese Fries with Ranch, or Bacon Cheese Fries, these aren't part of the deal. However, you can count them toward your $10 worth of food products that will cinch you the free goods.
Mix and match your favorite Shake Shack items
Shake Shack's fries, cut from golden potatoes and made in cholesterol-free soy oil, are known for being crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The secret, according to the chain's executive chef and VP of Culinary Innovation, is the right balance of salt, heat, and an ideal dipping sauce. The classic fries (aka the free ones) pair well with ketchup, but depending on what you order (or ask for on the side), you can also try them with the chain's ShackSauce, herb mayonnaise, cheese sauce, honey mustard, or barbecue sauce.
If you're not sure how you'll rack up that $10 order to get the freebie, it shouldn't be too difficult — a regular ShackBurger costs $7.09, while some of the main entrees (like the Shack Stack) cost more than $10. Even if you get a shake with a friend, you'll likely hit the threshold, as some of the basic ones (like the black and white shake) go for $5.99.
This isn't the first time the chain has celebrated summer Frydays; back in 2019, it hosted a giveaway contest asking customers to post their fries on Instagram. This summer, it's also been getting in the spirit by debuting three new lemonade flavors, which include the option to add caffeine. So, the next time your work lets out, you may want to head to Shake Shack to take advantage of their tasty seasonal options.
