In 2026, Burger King introduced plenty of innovative new items to its menu. But one of the best  flavor sensations it offered up was a limited release burger that definitely earned a berth on its list of permanent offerings. The Peppercorn BLT Whopper proved to be one of the five best things a Tasting Table critic ate at BK in 2026, but it's sadly no longer available as the time of this writing.

The burger was part of the chain's "Whopper By You" publicity campaign, which brought multiple different versions of the chain's iconic sandwich to its restaurants. The Peppercorn BLT sported Swiss cheese, peppercorn aioli, bacon, lettuce, and tomato atop the typical, flame-broiled Whopper patty and sesame seed bun.

Tasting Table's critic tried the Peppercorn BLT Whopper, and was glad Burger King still lets people have it their way. Our writer was bowled over by how flavorful and texturally pleasing this version of the classic burger tasted. On top of that, they praised how well the ingredients married together, and while they noted the aioli topping was more like a spicy mayonnaise, they nonetheless praised what it brought to the Whopper. "This burger is delicious from top to bottom," our taster remarked.

BK customers loved the Peppercorn BLT Whopper

How did consumers feel about the Peppercorn BLT Whopper? Posters to the Burger King subreddit weighed in with their thoughts, indicating that the sandwich created plenty of new fans during its brief release. "It slapped, as the kids say," said one customer. "This is my jam. I hate that its LTO," remarked another. "Peppercorn sauces improve everything, well done to BK," noted one Redditor.

There were, however, a few naysayers in the crowd. "Eh I had it today and felt like it was missing something. Was decent and better then the original Whopper but the sauce just didn't add enough for me," said one customer. "I tried it and tbh it was awful. No flavor at all, hardly any sauce so it was pretty dry. I order it without cheese because yuck and kind of ick of cheese now being standard on all specialty Whoppers. Also I hate their bacon because it's hard and chewy," another Redditor complained. While not everyone chiming in may be a fan, we still think the Peppercorn BLT Whopper is undeniably one of the best fast food burgers of 2026 — and hopefully it will be back in 2027.
