John Kelly Chocolates In Hollywood Makes Truffle Fudge
Two chocolates are better than one
There are people who prefer the sweet indulgence of chocolate truffles. Others crave the homey taste of fudge. But those who want both in one bite should try John Kelly Chocolates' truffle fudge.
The texture lies somewhere between ganache and mousse; it's creamy, thick, slightly fluffy and really smooth. There are 14 flavors, including vanilla, cappuccino and mint, all enrobed in a shell of semisweet or dark chocolate.
Founders John Kelson and Kelly Green have been handcrafting their velvety bars at a small factory around the corner from Cheebo since 2005. The confections have only been available at high-end retailers and hotels.
But now there's a storefront adjacent to the factory, so you can walk in for gift boxes, a la carte assortments or individual pieces to sate that afternoon sweet tooth.
We're suckers for anything peanut butter and chocolate, and John Kelly's take on the combination doesn't disappoint. But in the unlikely event that you taste only one, make it the dark chocolate and caramel number topped with pink salt.
And if you want to impress a group–or show Mom how much you really love her–order the three-pound slab of truffle fudge in any flavor ($66).
