Joe Campanale's version of the Paloma trades in the traditional tequila for vodka and adds of-the-moment Aperol.
"I love Aperol," Campanale says. "It's so refreshing as an aperitif and pairs well with the grapefruit for a tart drink that's perfect when winter citrus is at its peak."

Ingredients
- 1½ ounces vodka
- ½ ounce St-Germain
- ½ ounce Aperol
- 1 ounce grapefruit juice
- Ice
Directions
- Add all ingredients to a mixing glass. Add ice and shake hard. Strain into a rocks glass filled with ice. Garnish with a grapefruit slice and serve.
