Pizzeria Sirenetta: Now that Mermaid Inn is all settled into its larger space next door, the owners have turned the former Upper West Side location into a pizza and pasta restaurant. Lionsbeerstore: Part beer store, part drinking and snacking den, this new spot has 350 brews in the house, as well as sausage, charcuterie and cheese platters. Officine Brera: The long-anticipated meat-centric spot is finally here, but if you want to check it out, you'll have to get in line. The large restaurant was completely booked for its opening weekend before the weekend in question even started. If you do get in, look out for Northern Italian fare and a very animal-heavy menu. Amboy: Eggslut's Alvin Cailin's latest project is a Filipino-focused takeaway project in Chinatown next to his culinary incubator Unit 120. The lunchtime-only spot focuses on rice topped with traditional Filipino grilled meats wrapped in a banana leaf. There's also house-made hot sauce for those who want it, and nothing tops $10. Moruno: Once just a take-out spot, Spanish snackery Moruno is all grown up at The Original Farmers Market. Norah: West Hollywood's new swank spot looks like it could easily be in a design catalog with Edison bulb chandeliers, chevron wood flooring and mix-and-match chairs. The menu hops around from "cauliflower popcorn" made with rice flour batter, smoked paprika and chickpea tahini to uni butter poached shrimp and even masa harina dumplings with chili braised pork. Starboard: Hot Mission bar/club Slate has a hip new next-door neighbor, where the menu is full of meaty mains, fun bar snacks and top-notch jokes ("Chowder? I hardly knew her!"). The 1,776-square-foot space has pies named for some of our founding fathers, like the Thomas Jefferson (chicken, apples, Gorgonzola, arugula, mozzarella), the John Adams (clams, potatoes, pork belly, fontina) and the often-overlooked John Hancock (cod, scallops, bacon, roasted garlic, mozzarella).
