Salt Bae Burger Chain
The first location will open in Los Angeles
If you're Salt Bae, a few lukewarm reviews and health department violations can't stop you—so long as you have your sunglasses, flowing locks and that certain way with seasoning. Even though his New York steakhouse, Nusr-Et, has been open for less than a month, the Turkish butcher announced to The New York Post he has plans to bring a more affordable burger chain to meme-obsessed diners in L.A. and NYC. He's even already decided on a (completely predictable) name: Salt Bae.
"We've already signed a lease for our first Salt Bae in Los Angeles—Soho is next," the restaurateur says. That initial L.A. location will be a 4,000-square-foot spot with table service, plus a counter for take-out orders. And unlike his high-priced Midtown steakhouse, the burgers will be priced for the Instagram masses. Though, judging by that self-portrait in Nusr-Et, don't be surprised if your waiter comes to the table rocking a deep V-neck.
