Hint: We're claiming elderflower as the next big thing
Soon-to-be-newlyweds Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have finally released details on their wedding cake. Kensington Palace released a statement this morning saying that the couple will be having an elderflower and lemon cake created by Claire Ptak of Violet Cakes.

According to The Kitchn, the bride-to-be actually knows Ptak and interviewed the baker for her former lifestyle blog, The Tig. Ptak is a California-born cake designer who specializes in American-styled pastries at her bakery in London.
Once again, the couple is breaking with tradition, as it's commonplace for royal wedding cakes to be made of fruitcake. Instead, the couple wanted a cake that highlights "sustainability, seasonality and most importantly flavour," Ptak shares.
