Starbucks' Most-Hyped Winter Menu Item Is Returning In 2022

If you're a person living on planet Earth, you've likely seen, and sampled, your fair share of Starbucks lattes. The Pumpkin Spice Latte is perhaps its most famous; the cinnamon, clove, and nutmeg-scented espresso drinks debuted in select Starbucks locations way back in 2003 (via Starbucks). Since that fateful year, pumpkin spice — both in coffee and among a much wider array of beverages and foods — has become an unstoppable juggernaut, and the worldwide coffee chain still rolls out its love-it-or-hate-it autumn latte every fall.

But Starbucks offers another seasonal flavored latte that has been generating a serious amount of buzz and attracting legions of fans since its debut, though it hasn't been around quite as long as its pumpkin predecessor. After being tested at Starbucks Reserve Roasteries, the Pistachio Latte debuted nationwide last winter and was a huge hit according to QSR Magazine.

Starbucks' Pistachio Latte is back

As of today, Starbucks locations nationwide are serving up a seasonal winter latte that debuted last year and has been buzzed about ever since. The Pistachio Latte is a frothy mix of syrup made with actual pistachios, espresso, steamed milk, and a "salty, brown, buttery topping," according to USA Today. As stated above, the drink was originally designed for Starbucks Reserve Roasteries back in 2019. Starbucks shares that customers loved the exclusive beverage so much its beverage development team decided to offer the Pistachio Latte to a wider audience. Starbucks fans seem to love the drink, sharing their excitement with the hashtag #pistachiolatte on TikTok and Instagram.

The drink can be made hot, iced, and blended — and is available for a limited time only. No word yet on exactly how long it will be in stores, so if you like coffee, pistachios, and brown butter, you might want to snag one sooner rather than later.
