Taco Bell Has Major Expansion News

Whether you're craving a Mexican Pizza at 3 a.m. or could use a breakfast burrito on your commute to work, Taco Bell has you covered. No matter where you are, there always seems to be a Taco Bell around the corner, and pretty soon, that won't just apply to people living in the U.S. According to a press release, the fast food chain experienced a 25% increase in store openings over the last two years, with October 2021 seeing the highest weekly sales in Taco Bell international history.

Having recently opened its 100th location in Spain, Taco Bell's international success is on its way up — and the chain is making plans to expand even further. "With the partnership of people like Spain master franchisee, Ignacio Mora-Figueroa, our international expansion to 1,000 restaurants outside the U.S. allows us a bigger footprint to create more fans around the world," President of Taco Bell International Julie Felss Masino said in the announcement.

The menus at the Taco Bell Spain look a lot different

If the endlessly customizable nature of the menu items is your favorite Taco Bell feature, you'll probably be jealous of all the different options at its locations in Spain. Though 100 Taco Bell locations is a sparse number compared to the thousands in the U.S., the menu, particularly the dessert one, is far more extensive (via Taco Bell).

Whereas you can order Cinnabon Delights in a pack of either two or 12 at Taco Bell the U.S., in Spain, the dessert offerings include a Crunchwrap filled with marshmallows and melted chocolate, fried cinnamon sugar tortillas topped with dulce de leche and a side of vanilla ice cream, and a "Chocodilla" chocolate quesadilla. And as far as the entrees go, Spain's version of the Mexican Pizza says everything. It's triple-stacked, loaded with toppings, and you can even order it with a beer. You heard that right — in Spain (as well as Korea, Japan, the U.K., and India) you can actually order beer with your tacos. (In the U.S., you have to be lucky enough to live near a Taco Bell Cantina for that possibility.)
