Krispy Kreme's New Donut Is Stuffed With A Full Size Candy Bar
How much do we love donuts? Let us count the ways. We love Cap'n Crunch-coated donuts in Honolulu, lemon pistachio donuts in Chicago, and guava-and-cheese donuts in Miami. We love chocolate crunch donuts in Portland, PB&J donuts in New York, and donuts on a stick in Las Vegas. We even love making donuts at home — whether they're stuffed with strawberry jam or yeasted and glazed.
Seeing as how we love donuts, you can imagine that we're familiar with Krispy Kreme, the North Carolina-founded chain famous for its simple, delectable glazed donuts. And great as the chain's piping-hot originals are, it has also come up with some interesting specialty combinations over the years, such as a Reese's team-up that took the form of a peanut butter cream-filled donut shining with chocolate glaze and decorated like an Easter egg. Now, the chain has announced a new partnership with yet another beloved candy bar, and if you like sweets, you're going to want to check this one out.
It's a Twix-stuffed Krispy Kreme!
ChewBoom reports Krispy Kreme is partnering with the well-loved Mars, Inc. candy bar Twix, those caramel-layered, milk chocolate-coated crunchy cookies many love. Starting February 21, select Krispy Kreme locations began offering three limited-time-only mashups: a mini glazed donut dipped in chocolate icing and topped with Twix pieces; a chocolate iced donut filled with salted caramel, topped with Twix pieces, and drizzled with dulce de leche; and what is quite possibly the new line's pièce de résistance — an oblong donut filled with chocolate cream, stuffed with an entire Twix bar, dipped in chocolate icing, drizzled with dulce de leche and chocolate icing, and topped with Twix pieces.
"We are always looking for new ways to provide our fans an awesome donut experience, so we've partnered with another iconic brand — Twix — for the first time ever," said Dave Skena, Krispy Kreme's chief marketing officer, in a press release (via Best Products).
The new donuts are sold individually or in a special dozen that includes four each of the two regular-sized Twix collaborations, plus four Original Glazed, while a box that includes the special Twix minis also offers four mini strawberry iced with sprinkles, four mini chocolate iced, and four mini Original Glazed donuts.
