Sonic's New Burger Goes All In On Pickles

Even for the dedicated home cooks among us, there are just some days we're busy, tired, or simply craving something hot and greasy (preferably made by someone else, so that we don't have to clean up any oil splatters at home): enter fast food.

An American classic, Sonic is known for roller-skating carhops that serve up fun drinks (like its icy cherry limeade), along with hot dogs, shakes, tater tots, and burgers (via Sonic). Similar to other fast food chains, Sonic often releases limited-time menu items to keep fans excited, such as last year's Crave Cheeseburger, which, according to a press release, featured a brand new secret sauce. And this spring a new limited-time burger is gracing the Sonic menu — along with a new side — and it looks like it's going to be a big win for pickle lovers across the U.S. while it lasts.

The Big Dill cheeseburger comes topped with pickle fries

At Sonic this spring, everything's coming up pickles. And if you're a fan of the briny food, then you might be interested in the fast food chain's new Big Dill Cheeseburger, which is available at participating locations across the U.S. for a limited time (via Sonic). The new burger takes the classic beef patty and American cheese combo and adds a stack of crispy pickle fries, plus crinkle-cut pickle slices, a creamy dill-infused ranch sauce, and chopped lettuce, all on a toasted brioche bun. The burger will appear on the Sonic menu starting May 2, with early access for users of the chain's mobile app.

And if you really love pickles, you might want to accompany your Big Dill burger with a side of Sonic's new pickle fries, available the same day. The fries, which are served with creamy ranch dressing, are presumably the same ones that will top the limited burger.

Both pickle-heavy items are only here for a short while, so if you're dying to try either the new burger or crispy side be sure to swing by your local Sonic before June 26, when they will be taken off the menu.
