Boomchickapop Wants You To Propose With Popcorn
There's a new option for the romantic foodies out there hoping to settle down. Popcorn brand Angie's Boomchickapop has collaborated with jeweler Stephanie Gottlieb to make what they're calling in a press release the world's first popcorn-cut diamond engagement ring. Whether you met on Eat Cute or fell in love sharing your favorite food during a romantic dinner, with this ring the gastronomically minded couple can share their passion for food and each other at the same time.
Snack food brand Angie's Boomchickapop popped its first kernel way back in 2001, according to Brit + Co. Since then the company has grown to be one of the biggest names in ready-made popcorn. It offers microwavable popcorn, along with a variety of ready-to-eat popcorn types like chocolate drizzle with sea salt, kettle corn, and a caramel cheddar mix. Angie's Artisan Treats was acquired by Conagra Brands back in 2018 for $250 million, per Brit + Co.
Angie's Boomchickapop has been bringing people together through their shared love of brightly colored bags and snacking for years, and now it's going a step further and trying to help fans pop the question too.
Introducing the popcorn-cut diamond
Designed by jeweler Stephanie Gottlieb, the press release shares that the popcorn-cut diamond ring features a 3.66-carat diamond centerpiece that has been trimmed into a popcorn shape and set into a yellow gold bezel and band. Colored engagement rings are likely to be all the rage after Jeniffer Lopez debuted her new green-tinted engagement ring, and the popcorn diamond ring will be no exception. The diamond gives off a yellow gold sparkle that calls to mind the shimmer of freshly buttered movie theater popcorn.
In the press release, Gottlieb shared how excited she is to be a part of the project, and that she feels it's in line with the rising rate of requests for ultra-special rings. "We've seen an increase in demand for custom, unexpected and personal engagement ring designs. Collaborating with Angie's Boomchickapop on this never-before-seen ring means bringing a touch of whimsy to a milestone moment in a couple's life, and we can't wait to be a part of that," said Gottlieb.
While it might be tempting to treat this ring as a novelty item, it certainly doesn't come at a novelty price. Popping the question with the popcorn-cut engagement ring will cost $50,000. This unforgettable ring is available for purchase from Gottlieb's website.
