The 4 Locations You Can Enjoy Gucci-Approved Food And Drinks
Gucci recently jumped onto the food scene, making the venture from designer fashion to designer cuisine. After unveiling the first Gucci Osteria in Florence in 2018 (CN Traveler), the fashion house has opened up three more locations across the globe and become synonymous not just with haute couture but haute cuisine. Creating the same atmosphere of luxury, the series of restaurants have the Gucci stamp of approval, and it's clear why.
With a menu developed by superstar chef Massimo Bottura of Italy's 3-Michelin-star restaurant Osteria Francescana (via Michelin Guide), it's no surprise that Gucci Osteria da Massimo Bottura has also been awarded a Michelin star at 2 out of the 4 locations. As one might imagine, guests can expect fare that's just as visually appealing as it is delicious and creative.
Although it might seem like an odd pairing, this isn't the first time a fashion brand has ventured into the food sector. In fact, Document Journal reports that efforts to marry the world of luxury goods and luxury foods have previously been made by Prada, LVMH, Burberry, and even Dolce & Gabbana. Clearly, fine dining is very much in style. So, if you want a taste of what's trendy, here's where you can find a Gucci Osteria near you.
Gourmet experiences in Florence, L.A., Tokyo & Seoul
With locations in Florence, Los Angeles, Tokyo, and, most recently, Seoul, the eateries reflect modern Italian cuisine that flirts with certain cultural elements of their respective locations, according to Lifestyle Asia.
In collaboration with chef Massimo Bottura are Chef Karime Lopez (Florence), Chef Mattia Agazzi (Los Angeles), Chef Antonio Iacoviello (Tokyo), and Chef Hyungkyu Jun and Chef Davide Cardellini (Seoul), who oversee the day-to-day creation of unique dishes like jalapeño-infused lamb, SoCal spaghetti, parmigiana-inspired ramen, or truffled fried chicken via Gucci). Interestingly, you can always stumble upon one unifying dish: Bottura's signature tortellini served in a Parmigiano Reggiano cream.
Along with these playful culinary offerings, dinners can also expect a great selection of wines and cocktails — but it doesn't stop there for Gucci. According to CPP Luxury, the fashion brand just recently launched a signature cocktail, the Elisir d'Elicriso, that was crafted by famed mixologist Giorgio Bargiani. With their sights set on food, Gucci doesn't show signs of slowing down.
