Fresca's New Canned Cocktails Are Inspired By 2 Bar Classics

Life just got a little simpler for those whose mixer of choice is Fresca. The Coca-Cola Company is joining forces with Constellation Brands Inc. on two new Fresca-based canned cocktails. Of course, we all know Coca-Cola, but you may wonder why the mega-brand choose Constellation Brands for this project. With over seven decades in the CPG (consumer packaged goods) business and a mission statement to improve lives and bring people together (per Constellation Brands), we anticipate a popular addition to the growing canned cocktail market.

This is not the company's first rodeo on the canned adult beverage circuit; Constellation also represents Corona's canned hard seltzers, fruit-flavored beers, Modelos, Cheladas, and other canned beers, inspiring Coca-Cola to entrust the company with launching its classic Fresca into the promising canned cocktail market, which is expected to grow at an annual rate of 13.4% over the next eight years (per Grand View Research). Though many generally relate Coca-Cola with non-alcoholic soft drinks, this isn't its first canned cocktail release this year. The beverage company teamed up to bring us the American classic Jack and Coke in a can, with none other than Jack Daniel's earlier this year.

Presenting Fresca Mixed! Premium premixed cocktails

Fresca is a fantastic mixer with its tart but not too tart grapefruit flavor and effervescence. Beloved as a soft drink and compatible with a variety of spirits, the soda has been on the market for over 50 years, The New York Times notes. It must have been a tough decision for the power team to decide on just two cocktails, but perhaps because of its experience with Mexican beer preparations, Constellation is pouring "a modern and sophisticated take on the iconic Paloma cocktail." Though they haven't revealed their recipe, we know it will have tequila blanco and Fresca, which is a very good start.

Classy and classic, the other option is a vodka spritz. This spritzer will be light in flavor and calories with real vodka and the grapefruit flavors in Fresca. Both canned cocktails are 100 calories, gluten- and sugar-free with 5% ABV (alcohol by volume), and at a suggested retail price of $9.99 for a four-pack, they'll keep your diet light and your pocketbook heavy. Fresca Mixed cocktails are another festive option for chilling around the fire pit or filling the cooler at this fall's tailgaters.
