From mead and lagers to stouts and everything in between, she firmly believes there's nothing quite like the anticipation of a new batch. (Her current favorite is a Viking's Blod mead.)
- DB absolutely fell in love with authentic Mexican cuisine while spending a year living along the Arizona-Mexico border.
- She once interviewed Paula Deen for the opening of her store in Upstate New York.
Experience
After years of making her teachers think she was taking thorough notes when she was really just writing fiction, DB decided to turn her love of writing into something more. Since becoming a journalist, she has been fortunate enough to travel extensively, and sample regional cuisines from New Orleans to the southwest and San Francisco. She still maintains that her hometown of Buffalo, New York has one of the best and vastly underrated foodie cultures in the nation, and was glad to be able to promote that during her time as a reporter there. She is currently working on a cookbook centered around home gardens.
Education
DB has a degree in English from West Virginia University with a focus in medieval literature and journalism.
