Experience

With a writing career spanning over a decade, Emily prides herself on telling vibrant stories from a cultural or sustainable perspective within the travel, culinary, and climate realms. Having worked at a variety of outlets, from live newsrooms to international tourism platforms, her experience includes editorial collaborations with The New York Times, interviews with global leaders, and on-site reportage above the Arctic Circle, and beyond. Now contributing to multiple outlets regularly as a freelancer, her stories have appeared in numerous places, including USA Today, TheTravel, Explore Washington State, The Arizona Republic, Palm Beach Post, About Place, Luxury Daily, The Desert Sun, Peaceful Dumpling, and much more. Emily's written work has been nominated for multiple awards, including the Best of Net. Her first book, "Warmly, The Wild," is coming out in 2025 from Finishing Line Press.

Education

Emily has a bachelor's degree in creative writing and environmental studies, an associate's in art history, and a concentration in gender and women's studies from Roanoke College. This dynamic academic background has proved highly useful, enriching her work with a modern and sustainable lens.
