Middle Eastern Cuisine, Soups & Stews, Plant-Based Recipe Development
- Following high school, Hunter was employed by a touring Renaissance festival, where she lived on campgrounds all over the United States. This opportunity granted her a direct encounter with the diverse culinary traditions of the nation, sparking her enthusiasm for exploring global food cultures.
- She and her partner once indulged in a taste test of every cake available at their local bakery (a whopping 14), all in the pursuit of ranking them from worst to best.
- In 2022, Hunter traveled to Egypt, where she fell in love with Middle Eastern and North African cuisine. She regularly attempts to recreate the remarkable meals that she had there.
Experience
Hunter spent 12 years in the restaurant industry in various roles, including server, cook, and manager. While overseeing a modest vegan/vegetarian cafe, Hunter discovered her passion for recipe development. She crafted special dishes, concocted original soups and sauces, and mastered the art of infusing vitality into plant-based cuisine. In 2021, Hunter decided to leave the world of restaurants to pursue a career as a writer. Her initial writing position involved reviewing movies for the website Red Carpet Crash. Although it wasn't food-focused, this position further fueled her love for writing and spurred her to merge her culinary enthusiasm with her talent for the written word.
