Experience

Melissa has been writing about food for over a decade. She's lived in Asheville, North Carolina (her hometown), Buenos Aires, Miami, Madrid, and Lisbon, and in each place has made it a point to become an expert in the local culinary scene. She previously worked as an editor and project manager for a multilingual content agency; her favorite project involved translating a Spanish food magazine into English. She's also worked for a food tour company and multiple travel agencies.

Education

Melissa has a bachelor's degree in motion pictures and anthropology from the University of Miami – a combination that's served her surprisingly well as a food writer.
